     McKenzie Club President's Messages

    May,2009

    HAPPY SPRING TO ALL,

Finally, spring is here, so walk softly, mother earth is pregnant.

As you can see, Monaco at this time, wasn’t able to help us getting the newsletter on our website, but we found a way around the problem. As the saying goes, through rain or snow, rich or poor we get the news to the McKenzie members somehow.

The McKenzie International Rally in Toppenish Washington is full speed ahead. Wagon masters

Margie & Dale Roper, with the help of the Washington Chapter report that registrations are

coming in and events are coming together. I certainly want to encourage those that haven’t

signed up to do so and not miss our 10th anniversary of getting together. I’ve heard some old

time members we haven’t seen in awhile are joining us, along with first time members. So, rethink about coming if you haven’t sent in your reservation.

It’s time again, to think about next year’s officers for the club. Do consider running for one of

these offices, President, Vice President, Secretary, Member at Large and Newsletter Editor.

None are very time consuming, everyone is willing to help, and without our officers, it’s hard to

have a club. So, give it some thought, and get involved. It is also time to start thinking about the 2011 International Rally. If anyone has any suggestions on places, or if anyone is willing to think about being the 2011 Wagon master, please let me know. We need to discuss this at the General Board meeting the Washington rally. It has really helped to have plans for rallies two years in advance. I know someone out there knows a good place or a person for the job.

Membership books, put together by John Dawson and Jim Cupp are done and John is taking

orders for those of you that would like to receive your copy at the International rally. Arrangements can be made for shipping by calling John at (831) 426-4711. State Chapters rallies are being planned, see more in this newsletter, and I hope you all get a

chance to attend one, or two, or all. They are less formal and a great chance to get to know fellow members better.

Our treasury is good, and holding steady, as I see it, we will have a rally next year and hopefully

Monaco will be back with us again.

Look forward to seeing everyone in Washington, have a safe trip and stop to enjoy the ride up.

One last thing for the Gardeners “ If you have trouble telling the difference between a weed and

a plant this time of the year, pull on it. If it come out it’s a plant.”

Hello to all fellow McKenzie members:

Harrah, summer is here and it's almost time to RALLY!

We have a pretty good turnout for our 10th anniversary rally, and I look forward to seeing all of you that are planning on attending.  For those that can't make it this year, we will miss you, but remember there is another rally already being planning for 2010.

Because of the situation with Monaco, and the new guys, there has been quite a lot of discussion on the standing of our club.  I am sure this will be the main topic at the rally.  Keeping the club as it stands today and waiting for a year to see what happens with the new owners, or changing it and calling it a travel club where anyone could join no matter what make the rig is.  If you have a view point or suggestions I would like you to email them to me so they can be reviewed at the general membership meeting.  This is especially true of those members that will not be there, as your views are important and should be heard.

The other main topic is elections.  If won't matter what the club is if we don't have a board.
Please consider running for one of the following offices.

    President
    Vice President
    Secretary
